Hi-pot Testing requirements
In order to ensure the safety and reliability of the Lamps and Lanterns during normal use, the Hi-pot test of Lighting Product needs to meet the following requirements:
1. Compressive strength
The lamp should be able to withstand a certain high voltage in the Hi-pot test, and it is generally required that there will be no abnormal phenomena such as leakage, arc, and sparks.
2. Leakage current
The leakage current of the Lighting Fixture shall meet the requirements of national and industry standards and shall not exceed the specified safety limit to ensure that the lamp will not pose a threat to personal safety during use.
3. Insulation resistance
The insulation resistance of the lamp should meet the requirements of national and industry standards to ensure that the Home Decorative Lighting has good insulation performance and reduce the risk of leakage and electric shock.
4. Safety performance
During the Hi-pot test of the lamp, there shall be no potential safety hazards such as short circuit, overheating, and combustion, so as to ensure the safety of the lamp during use.
The above are requirements for Hi-pot testing of Class II lamps. In the production process, lighting manufacturers should conduct Hi-pot tests in strict accordance with relevant standards to ensure the quality and safety performance of lamps.
